Kate Payne is coming to Fairbanks!

I am hosting Kate Payne for an afternoon of Local Food, Fun, and Friendship at Calypso Farm and Ecology Center on July 1, 2012. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with wood-fired pizza fresh from the Calypso Farm ovens. The pizza toppings and salad that is provided will be fresh from their gardens. We will have a tour of the Farm and Kate will provide a small-batch canning presentation using fresh, local ingredients. Of course, I will provide something delicious for dessert. I really hope you can join us, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.
The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking (HarperCollins, April 2011) will be available for purchase and personal inscription at the event; it is also available at all major booksellers.
All proceeds (minus credit card fees) will be donated to Calypso Farm and Ecology Center. The cost of the event is $27 which covers lunch, farm tour, and demonstration. Please register here:

  1. Nicole, so happy to see you back. I've missed your posts. I am always eager to see what you will offer next - your Snickerdoodle Bars were a huge hit with my family. The rhubarb simple syrup and rhubuarb mojito has become one of my favorites. My rhubarb is up and just begging to be turned into some more simple syrup.

    1. Thanks Renee. I hadn't planned to be away for so long. It was a combination of being terribly busy at work and the fact that there isn't a lot in the way of fresh local ingredients this time of year. Like you, I am anxiously awaiting my rhubarb to come up. I have a whole list of new rhubarb recipes I want to try this year.
