And if you haven't been yet head out to Kodiak. A bit of a ferry ride or flight I miss being there now that I am back in Maine. -Christinamadder roothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10249101354267447167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326112551659962413.post-30510671528375998912012-12-06T08:47:59.163-08:002012-12-06T08:47:59.163-08:00wow what an interesting recipe. For some reason I just prefer them canned. In any event a pot of beans is a thing of beauty. In Kentucky we refer to pinto or great northern beans cooked all day with a ham bone as "soup beans". It's amazing how something so simple can taste so wonderful and complex. I'll hold you to the bean resolution, it's definitely a fun one. ;-)Alysehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09977949834838450609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326112551659962413.post-48084971038272928542012-12-05T10:59:23.615-08:002012-12-05T10:59:23.615-08:00I didn't learn about the Foodzie boxes until t...I didn't learn about the Foodzie boxes until they were already bought out by Joyus. All those videos kill my slow internet so I have never ordered. The beans I do have came from Rancho Gordo however. I discovered them at the SF Ferry Terminal. I also like Phipps Country Store, they have a HUGE selection.Nicole Pearcehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03777028410857045419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326112551659962413.post-11755890111957443212012-12-05T10:53:46.899-08:002012-12-05T10:53:46.899-08:00Porky Pinto Beans are definitely on the bean list....Porky Pinto Beans are definitely on the bean list. I got introduced to heirloom beans through the Foodzie box, back before they were acquired by Joyus. Rancho Gordo (www.ranchogordo.com) has some good ones!
